Vinay Chhajlani
Founder and Director
A graduate in Electrical & Electronics Engineering,
topper of the1984 batch from BITS Pilani and MS
in Printing Technology from Rochester Institute
of Technology (RIT), New York, Mr. Vinay Chhajlani
started his career in 1986 as a planning executive
with Semline Inc. a leading printing company in
Boston. It was these two years at Semline that
gave direction to his interest in Information
Technology and helped crystallize his entrepreneurial
instincts. Vinay started SUVI in 1988.
The World's first multilingual portal &
language technology service provider Webdunia.com
(India) Limited founded in 1999, is his brainchild.
Its unique advantage in the Language IT Space
is due to Vinay’s background of software
engineering as well a good understanding of the
language media.
Under his leadership, Webdunia.com pioneered
in the language Internet world by providing Internet
services in 11 Indian languages. His team has
made e-patra (World's first free Web based multilingual
e-mail), e-varta (the World's first multilingual
chat), Webdunia khoj (World's first Indian language
Search Engine) and e-kamna (World's first multilingual
e-Greetings) a reality.
Vinay is also Director (Technical) - Naidunia
News & Networks Pvt. Ltd. and responsible
for setting up and managing the network based
pre-press department involving editors and reporters.
The first Indian Language online newspaper, www.naidunia.com
was setup under his leadership. |
